Abdulaziz AlFaisal in action at Reem Circuit, Saudi Arabia

Dubai Oct 31st – All eyes will soon be on Yas Marina Circuit again where the new Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East gets off to a flying start on Nov 13-14 as the official support race for the 2010 F1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

With just a fortnight to go until the new season starts, Saudi Arabia’s Prince Abdulaziz Al Faisal will return to defend his title after winning nine out of 12 rounds last season.

Saudi teenager Fahad Algosaibi made history as the youngest ever driver and winner in Porsche one-make racing

The new season will also see the return of young Saudi driver Fahad Algosaibi who made history twice in last year’s series as he bounced into the record books on two counts. He is the youngest driver ever to compete in Porsche racing worldwide at the age of only 16, and the youngest driver to win a race, when he took the victory in March this year at his home track of Reem International Circuit in Riyadh.

Abu Dhabi’s Khaled Al Qubaisi is aiming to mount a big challenge for the title this time round, and he’ll have two new Emirati drivers for company -Ibrahim Salloum and Musaed Al Murar.

The Championship took delivery of its new fleet of race cars recently and claims a world first by launching the new ‘2011’ GT3 Cup Car in the opening rounds 1-2 of the 2010-11 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge ME, during F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend on Nov 13-14. The new race car will be launched officially at the world premiere of official testing at Dubai Autodrome on November 1&2.
