Dubai: Ben Sulayem nominated for FIA election as Vice President and WMSC candidate Middle East
Outgoing FIA President, Jean Todt has nominated Emirati Mohammed Ben Sulayem as his candidate for Vice President Middle East / North Africa (MENA) and for World Motorsport Council membership via membership of his Presidential team for election at the Annual General Assembly in Paris on December 8.
Frenchman Todt who is also the UN Special Envoy of Road Safety will be seeking election for his third term of the global authority for motorsport has included the fourteen times Middle East Rally Champion on his ‘Presidents list ‘that covers both the leadership of both the Sport and Mobility sides of the FIA which has 245 member clubs cover 145 countries.
“I am honored to be asked to serve with Jean Todt who has proved to be an inspiring President of the FIA over the past eight years ‘’ said Ben Sulayem who is President of `ATCUAE “ This is an exciting time for motorsport and I hope if elected to help the sport grow in the MENA region and around the world as part of Jeans Presidential team “.
The Annual General Assembly elections take place on the morning of Friday, December 8 and the newly elected World Motorsport Council meets that afternoon. Earlier in the week ATCUAE will present delegates the results of the UAE pilot study of a new FIA international driving license and a new training video for Formula 1 officials created by ATCUAE.
