Le Mans: Jackie Chan DC Racing scoop top honours in LMP2 with first in class and second overall
Ho?Pin Tung, Thomas Laurent and Oliver Jarvis won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMP2 class, and even finished second overall after having led the race for several hours. Their extraordinary performance will go down in history! Never has a driver line-up in LMP2 claimed an overall podium finish since the class was created back in 2004.
Oliver Jarvis (GBR): “It’s unbelievable. It’s my best result, I’ve never done better even when I was at Audi. Who would have believed it when Audi withdrew last winter? Thanks to Jackie Chan DC Racing for preparing the cars. It’s incredible what we’ve achieved. You can’t compare the structure to Audi, it’s smaller but it’s really professional.”
Thomas Laurent (FRA): “The last two years have flown by for me, especially since I’ve been with David Cheng Racing. It has enabled me to find my feet in endurance. I knew straight away that it was for me. This is an extraordinary result. I thank the whole team.”
Ho?Pin Tung (NLD & CHN): “I’m extremely proud to be here. I began this adventure with David Cheng five years ago. We have progressed step-by-step through FIA WEC and have won the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It’s extraordinary. Lots of people must have seen the race because it was broadcast on the Internet.”
