ABU DHABI (UAE), Aug 02, 2016 – Abu Dhabi Racing (ADR) junior driver Mohamed Al Mutawaa overcame testing conditions to bring his Citroën DS 3 R3 Max safely home after a grueling weekend at Neste Rally Finland, Round 3 of the FIA Junior World Rally Championship (WRC). The ADR junior driver encountered various issues over three days of high-speed racing on gravel, but says the lessons he learnt and experience are invaluable as his JWRC progress continues.

Just on his second outing in Finland, Al Mutawaa managed to stay out of trouble during the three days of racing and eventually classified in 6th, battling suspension and gearbox issues and tough conditions on very fast gravel stages.

Al Mutawaa said: “I finished Rally Finland! It was a difficult rally for me as my notes were not perfect for the very fast stages and lost a lot of time in the process.

“That said, I learnt a lot on the weekend and managed to finish 6th primarily by staying out of trouble.

“I love the motorsport community here in Finland; everywhere I go it is evident that the people are very happy to see a rally car. But now it is time to focus on the round in Germany in a few weeks time.

“I am really grateful to the continuous support from Sheikh Khalid bin Faisal Al Qassimi and Abu Dhabi Racing for giving me this fantastic opportunity on the world stage of rallying.”

Next, ADAC Rallye Deutschland will be the 4th round of the Junior Championship, from August 18-21.
