Team MSW Seat in action at the recent UAE National touring car race at Yas Marina Circuit

Dubai Based MSW Racing will again represent the UAE at the upcoming Dubai 24-Hours race to be held at the Dubai Autodrome on 14th and 15th January where they will campaign the teams 2009/2010 UAE National Championship winning Seat Leon Supercopa in the ultra-competitive 2.0 litre Turbo class.

“MSW Racing is proud to enter this event for the 5th successive year in our locally prepared car driven by 3 of the fastest drivers in the UAE and rising GT2/LMS star Phil Quaife. This race is a prestigious and high profile event attracting 90 vehicles and more than 350 highly talented and experienced drivers from across the Globe and we relish the prospect of competing at this level once more” commented Jonathan Simmonds, Team Principal of MSW Racing.

Whilst the team are confident of a good showing, and are surely amongst the favourites for a class win, they do not underestimate the scale of the challenge ahead and know to their cost that in addition to the competition, which will be very strong, the wild card element of 24 Hour motor racing can easily affect the outcome.

“Our excellent team of mechanics, engineers and drivers has an impressive record at this event having won the GT4 class in 2009 and almost repeated the same feat last year until a 23rd hour mechanical fault denied us of the win. Obviously I will again be going all out for the class win but regardless of the final outcome we will have a great time as the team spirit and camaraderie experienced at these endurance events simply cannot be replicated in a sprint or regular GT race,” said Simmonds.

The driver line up will be made up of MSW’s three Dubai based team members: Jonathan Simmonds, Andre Ramdhanny and Raed Hassan and will again be augmented by pro GT2/LMS driver and MSW regular Phil Quaife from the UK who has driven with the MSW Racing team in all of the team’s previous 24-Hour campaigns.
