Team Orange, stars of the “The Fast & The Furious: Tokyo Drift” will return to amaze car fans in the Middle East with their full throttle displays of pure drifting action during Barbican Turbo 2010.
Hailing from Fukushima, Japan, Team Orange, are widely considered to be the world’s best drifting team; and are household names across Asia and the United States. A Middle East debut and exclusive, Team Orange is introducing their teammate Sumika Kubokawa, also known as the “Drift Queen” at this year’s event.

Hiroke Furuse, Team Orange Manager pointed out “Team Orange will perform 15 breathtaking demonstrations during the three days of the show, of course there will be the famous “twin-drift” and new for this year the “triple drift” sessions with the Drift Queen. We’re bringing two R33 and one R34 Nissan Skyline and will be taking some lucky members of the audience for “drift-taxi” rides throughout the weekend as well; we can’t wait.”

30,000 car fans are expected to attend the three-day event at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) sponsored by Barbican; also on show will be the UAE Sound Off competition, City Ride, RC competition and displays from Nitto Tyres.

Alongside the cars there will be an extreme-sports style show which will feature an urban street art demonstration by Paris-based Deco’Spray, Parkour or ‘free running’ performance by Filip and Mateusz from Poland, international DJ David Craig, and Crazy Blend – one of the leading UK events mixologists who will put together a list of 7 mocktails, only using Barbican flavors specially made for the event. This year Barbican Turbo will also include the Barbican stage with dancers and headline acts.
Timings are 12 midday to 10pm Thursday and Friday, and 12 midday to 8pm on Saturday. Tickets are priced at AED 25 for children for one day, or AED 50 for all three days, and AED 50 for adults single day or AED 100 for all three days. Family packages are also available – 2 adults, 2 children plus one child for free at a price of AED 150 for the day or AED 300 for three days.
