Dubai, Nov 8th 2015 – Formula Gulf, a well respected International Competition Driving School and National Championship now in its 5th year has trained drivers attending from as far afield as Kenya and Malaysia, this season again attracts some of the very best young talent around.

Thanks to six Formula One Grand Prix races in Abu Dhabi and ten 24-Hour races in Dubai, top racing drivers from all over the world have competed in the UAE.

In pre-season training and testing, 15 year old Cato Poulsen, who lives in Denmark, soon got to grips with Formula Gulf’s superb slicks and wings racer to set the fastest time.

Towards the end of last season Saudi racer Mashhur Bal Hejaila made full use of the professional coaching delivered in Formula Gulf and set some very quick lap times, as did Kuwaiti driver Yousuf Al Bader. Returning for a second season, Mashhur and Yousuf will be the men to beat. Also returning, after a 3 year hiatus, is Emirati racer Haytham Sultan who impressed at the test in Yas and hopes to again be on the pace at the first race in Dubai this weekend.

Joining the season at the second event in December all the way from Perth is Jordan Oon, fresh from three F1000 victories in Western Australia so things could get very interesting! Two novice drivers will also make their racing debut this season; Italian Giulio Peroni and Omar Gazzaz from Saudi Arabia.

But now it appears that many ambitious teenage kart racers and race drivers from around the world understand that not only is the UAE an excellent location for winter competition but it also hosts one of the best training camps in the world. This is evidenced by the growing number of foreign drivers signing up to

Since its launch in 2009, which was attended by H.E. Dr Mohammed Ben Sulayem and legendary race car constructor Ralph Firman, many foreign drivers have invested time and money to gain professional coaching and race experience on two of the world’s most challenging race circuits.

 

Supported again by top Spanish squad, Campos Racing and Gulf Oil International, there are some very valuable awards to be earned in the shape of F3 testing and training in Spain and a visit to the 2016 Le Mans 24 Hours.
