Spotlight interview on John Ingram by Glynne Lewis – It’s always a struggle for the privateer racers regarding sponsorship and support and none more so than for John Ingram.  It’s a fact that these days ability isn’t enough unless you have good backing and sponsors. John is a joiner by trade and a Road Racer by heart, I managed to catch up with John to ask him how his 2015 season turned out and his hopes for 2016. Although, having taken some hard earned podiums during his race season in the British Superbike Championship Superstock 1000 class he also encountering some problems throughout the year, here is his (John Ingram’s) review.

2015 Highlights/Review

BSB Superstock 1000 2015
“A Podium finish at Knockhill in the Superstock 1000 races, previously I was plagued with bad luck and bike problems up to this point. I also had numerous BSB races toward the end of the season with some solid top 20 finishes, which was quite pleasing.”

“At the 2015 TT I averaged 124 mph with a best result of 22nd in the Superbike race on the stock Hunts-Parker-Bromley stock specification Honda Fireblade.”

John contested the BSB series in 2015 taking a few podiums along the way

Isle of Man TT Senior Race 2015
“Rated as the fastest road races in the world, I made my debut at the Ulster Grand Prix competing against the top road racers in the world today, lapping at 124 mph and taking another top 20 finish were a great debut for the team.”

2016 plans
“My intentions are to make my North West 200 debut in May, and then onto the 2016 TT in June on my own new BMW S1000 RR machine along with the Supersport races on a Moto Breakers ZX6 Supersport machine. Back to the Ulster in August for more Dundrod action again on the BMW and hoping to start where I left off in 2015. ”

I asked John how his machine preparations developed over the winter and of course the costs involved, once again showing the dedication and support to enable him to go racing.

“To give you an incite I would say the BMW that I have built and prepared for the road racing job would be around 20k with spare wheels and stuff, it’s been a lot of late nights through January to get it prepared nice and early so we’re not rushing and faffing around at the last minute. My joinery work has to keep moving to pay the bills so this ties me up all week, then pre-season gym workouts, mountain biking and circuit test days are very important to keep the body and mind sharp enough to do the extra long road races this coming season.”

“If I had to put a figure on the three road races I’d say 20k not including bikes, anyone with a family and a business to run like me, who races will know I’m juggling three balls, Family, Work and Racing.”

“That order in priority would be nice and ideal but it never really works out that way, I have a fantastic Wife and family around me whom are very supportive that makes me really fortunate. Keeping supporters and sponsors in the loop is also very important which I do enjoy but also takes a bit of my time. Having now tested his BMW twice already this year John was giving nothing away, suffice to say that his first tests aboard the new BMW have gone very well, John said “We are already at a great starting point and looking forward to the 2016 season”.

Good. laps .. for redding.. Marquez out...

MM 93

I was there.....Brilliant racing!!

Very drunk day but remember the race. Loved watching Scott race. All packed and ready for Silverstone Thursday morning.

I was there, great finish. Home crowd went wild when Redding got back in front, then deadly silent when Marquez had a look up inside on last bend, then wild again when Redding cut back across. Amazing stuff!

Very nice

All these guys are big talents. Many riders like Pol Espargaro, Alvaro Bautista, Bradley Smith, Antony West & many more are great riders and capable of winning championships ( capable ). People underestimate these guys by their bad results, but really..top material is key in these classes, especially in the MotoGp class. Give them a solid ride and they'll blow your mind

Redding never got the ride he deserved.

Great performance by Pol & Scott at the end💪🏼..that was a cracker💥..

2019, #93 is the winner..😋🏁

special suter chassis for marc and mysterious team 😉 after marc step up to motogp, this team directly disappear, nobody know where are they now.

however Mac Marquez with his current performance does not have to be Marquez's best

Just shows how good Redding was but never really got the bike to really take it to them in Motogp.

Very cool video MotoGP. More like this one please!!!

Man, I miss Scott Redding in the padock "let's get it babi"

Redding and Iannone can beat Marquez they just don't get competitive bikes

Muy buena carrera no apta para cardíacos 🤭🤭🤭

Forget just how good Redding could have been with a decent bike

now whrs redding? gone?

Nice to see maq battle for other place than 1st

Luthi is moto2 governor.. 🤣🤣🤣

Kaj mu je pa SCOTT REDDING naredil,šale in kape.😀

Bring back Redding

duel one on one in the final lap marquez lose .....

Joe Barker a fond memory. Can’t believe how empty it looks!

The dramatic moment which cost Marc Márquez a shot at victory at Silverstone two years ago! 😱

The world champion's misfortune opened the door for Andrea Dovizioso to snatch the win! 💨

Maybe that won’t see this sunday, I’d rather watch all the riders fighting for the victory. ✊🏻🏍

Good Day all.

Encore! Encore! Do it again!

Unlikely to be repeated! Hope Dovi brings his A game though. 👍🏼👍🏼

Gave the rest a chance

So what's new?? Sometimes these kind of technical failures happens in Motorsport... Very rare that engine blow sky high to premier class bike.

I love coming here and waiting for all the Yellow gob smokers.

I thought "the legend" was gonna win that day.. 😅

Was at this race, and that bike blowing up was almost as good as a Rossi win 😀

RAre footage for sure

Ah, I could watch that Honda blow up all day every day...

Alex Groenewold finger cross 😅👍.. voor komend weekend

#MM93 Come Back STRONGER! 💪💪💪😎👍👍👍

Fast forward >>>> he is the world champion!!

Wow

Wow

And finaly , the boss MM93 won the title one more time

Honda's bike today is reliable so this might not happen again.

Saya Mie Halim moh top fan sama sama

Nothing can stop him not even a broken bike ! Simply the king of MotoGP !
