Oct 17th 2015 – Alex Cudlin won the first race of the Qatar Superbike Championship in an exciting battle with the runner up of the championship, Mishal Al Naimi.  Cudlin got the polepostion in the Superpose on Friday and took the lead during the first laps, until Al Naimi overtook him in the fifth lap but immediately, Cudlin gained again the position and took the lead to the end. The third place was for Nasser Al Malki.
“I am very happy with the race, there was a big fight with Mishal . I think Mishal had a plan to be behind until the very last lap  and maybe pas me in the straight but for some reason, I knew he was going to to this but I think he made it one lap earlier and when this happened, the whole plan changed and I had to make a pass directly to hold him off and he came really close, we almost touch  and he passed me but at the end I made an aggressive pass enough to win. This is perfect for the championship,’ Cudlin said after his win.
“The race was incredible, I was fighting with Alex during all the race , I tried to pass him after five laps but I felt that if I push too much hard the bike I will destroy the tires  as I don’t have electronic system in my bike and difficult to ride like this. I tried to managed in the last lap, I passed him but there were many overtakes in the last lap and there was a good fighting I  like it but I struggle a lot in the long left corners. Also many slow riders that slowed us  but we’ll see in the second race. Thanks to Ooredoo for their support and QMMF for the great organization of this
championship,” Mishal said after the event.

In the veteran category, the win was for the British rider Ian Maud from West Bay Racing “This is my first race of the season as I couldn’t join the first round and I am very happy with my first win.  It started very well in the first few laps , I got away,  but I lost the rhythm and couldn’t follow , so I just ride at my pace  and as fast as I can , I am better chasing than leading , so I keep like that until the end and very happy for the West Best Racing team’
In the Qatar Supersport Championship, the win was for Abdulaziz Bin Ladin with his Kawasaki bike. The Saudi rider started from the first position in the grid and took the lead until the checkered flag. The Qatari rider Fahid Al Sowaidi came in second place and Ahmed Al Muyini also from Saudi Arabia ended in third position.
In the women cup, the Hungarian rider Victoria Kis ended in the fourth overall position and first in her category. ‘I am really happy for this win, I am very excited for my fourth position in the overall race. The battle was amazing for the fourth position and many thanks to QMMF for the support and this championship’

Race 2
Cudlin and Abdulaziz winners again in QSBK and QSSP
The second race of Qatar Superbike had the same winners as race one, with the win of Alex Cudlin and Al Naimi and Al Malki second and third respectively.  In the first two laps of the race, Al Malki took the lead  but in the third lap, he came into the third position, with Al Naimi in second and Cudlin in front position.
‘ I am very happy to get the result. I am surprised because before the race I felt really sick, I don’t know why,  in my stomach ; I didn’t feel really good. I thought that maybe in the race I would take it easy and finish third or second. I had a good fight with Nasser and Mishal and then, about lap six, I came into the lead and saw that nobody was behind me, not as the first race. I didn’t have my laptime in my bike, so I just continue with  my pace and in the last two laps I pushed maximum to create a gap, so that is perfect for the championship , I have 20 points lead, so hopefully next round another double win.’ said Cudlin after the second win.
Mishal Al Naimi had the same problems with his Honda bike and couldn’t push to the end to catch Cudlin and fight of the win ‘I am happy for the result but I hope to be 100% in the next round and get the victory. Thanks to Ooredoo for the support and looking forward to next round ‘ Al Naimi said. The third place was for Nasser Al Malki and Saeed Al Sulaiti came in fourth position.
In the veterans category, the podium was also the same as first race, with Ian Maud first in the category and Christopher Bell and Martin Bexon second and third.
In the Qatar Supersport race 2, Abdulaziz Bin Ladin got again the victory in this championship and he increases the lead ahead of Fahid Al Sowaidi. The Saudi Arabian rider who started on pole, took the lead until the checkered flag and gave no chance to Fahid Al Sowaidi to overtake him.  Al Sowaidi ended in second place and Ahmed Al Muyini came third, same podium as in the first race.
‘I am very happy with my two victories of today and this result is great for my first year in this championship.’ said Abdulaziz.
American rider Shelina Moreda was the first women in her category in the second race of the day. ‘This race was better than the previous one, it was so hot today but it is awsome to race here in Qatar. Thanks to QMMF , FIM Women in Motorsport and my mechanic.’ Shelina said after the race 2
