
Porsche 911 RSR, Proton Competition: Christian Ried, Klaus Bachler, Khaled Al Qubaisi
Abu Dhabi, November 27th, 2014 – Khaled Al Qubaisi of Proton Competition, the Emirates Global Aluminium and Abu Dhabi Racing-backed team, are heading to Brazil for the finale of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).
On November 30, WEC round eight will be held in Sao Paulo where the Emirati Champion and team will be competing to finish their FIA WEC season in 3rd place.
The team, competing in class LMGTE Am, is led by Al Qubaisi with German Christian Reid and Klaus Bachler of Austria also sharing the driving duties behind the wheel of a Porsche 911 RSR.
Currently, Al Qubaisi and team Proton Competition are third overall in the LMGTE Am class, a clear 15 points over their fourth-placed opponents.
Speaking about the final round, Al Qubaisi said: “Overall it’s been a good season for us, we have had our ups and downs which is normal in motorsport, but the highlight of the season so far has definitely been our podium in Le Mans which was fantastic. I am now looking forward to the last round in Brazil. It is the first time the WEC has been held in the Sao Paulo and it is always exciting to race on a new track for first time.”
