Gulf Oil brand in the UAE operates two factories in Jebel Ali and one in Ras Al Khaimah producing over 400 varieties of high quality lubricants for export to over 40 countries
Dubai, 22nd August 2013 – Gulf Oil, one of the most evocative brands in the motorsport industry has signed on as official Technical Partner of GulfSport Racing to supply all lubricants and brake fluid for the FG1000 racing car used in the Formula Gulf 1000 Championship.The agreement was signed by Sanjay P. Singh, Chief Marketing Officer of Gulf Oil Middle East and Barry Hope, for GulfSport Racing, the owner and promoter of Formula Gulf 1000.
“Since Gulf Oil supported the Ford GT40 at Le Mans 24h in 1968, the brand has been associated with some of the greatest cars and drivers. For example, Porsche, Audi, McLaren and Aston Martin driven by such famous drivers as Jack Ickx, Stefan Johansson, Derek Bell and Jo Siffert.” said Sanjay P. Singh. “We believe that motorsport is an efficient manner to promote our products, and we’re pleased to be associated with GulfSport’s driver development race series, Formula Gulf 1000.”

The Gulf Oil brand and its famous blue and orange logo has been synonymous with motor racing for 45 years and has become one of the most iconic motorsport brands in the world carrying with it the passion and deep affection of millions of motorsport enthusiasts.

“Sanjay and his team have worked hard to develop a lubricant for us that meets the very demanding needs of a modern four-stroke motorcycle engine being used to power a single seater racing car in this climate. Bikers rarely use full throttle and high revs to the extent that we do in racing cars and so this is the ultimate test of a lubricant for a motorcycle engine.”
The Gulf Oil brand will be prominent on all Formula Gulf 1000 racing cars and associated publicity. Season three commences in October 2013 with an official pre-season test, followed by fourteen races. Graduates of previous seasons, now termed ‘the Racer’s Academy‘ because of the unusually high level of driver coaching included in the package, include Mohammed Al Mutawaa (Citroen Middle East Rally Championship), Joe Ghanem and WeiRon Tan (Formula Renault UK), and Natasha Seatter (Malaysian Super Series) & Rahul Mayer (BRDC Formula 4)
