Ducati motorcycles roll into Abu Dhabi
Ducati aficionados in the UAE had reason to feel smug today with the opening of the new Ducati Store in the capital – Abu Dhabi. After the successful store opening in Dubai of this iconic brand, it was only a matter of time before the popular Italian brand was taken to the capital and launched to a new and expectant rider base….
Who better to carry out the opening ceremony than three time world superbike champion and ex-Moto GP rider, Troy ‘Baylistic’ Bayliss. The popular Aussie was the obvious choice for the opening due to his dedication & loyalty to the brand with which he has become synonymous over the years…Not to mention his previous engagements over here in the UAE where he has carried the Ducati banner with store openings along with various bike launches both at the Dubai Autodrome & Yas Marina circuits….
With a mid day launch, we drove into the capital and into Mussaffah where the new sharp looking double fronted store is located. Easy to access and with plenty of parking for both cars & bikes right outside. Stepping inside to the air conditioned store you are met with bright lights and a vast open plan showroom. With a great mix of bikes and accessories on sale, every corner you turn your eyes are taken with something else to feast upon…Even the kids are catered for with small toys and pedal bikes and a great selection of clothing to deck them out in….Wanna look like #46 Rossi, no problem, all sizes of the replica clothing are available….Just be careful though, a quick trip could turn out expensive as one thing after another finds it’s way onto your wish list, including the bikes…
A first for Ducati and for the UAE is the launch of the new Monster Diesel bike…Yep, you read that right, a diesel bike. The Monster machine is an 1100cc V twin pushing out 100HP and is, according to the head honcho of the diesel style team, Renzo Rosso, bringing ‘military urban chic’ to the brand…I’m sure that when you see this beast in the flesh, you will understand exactly what he means, would I buy one, I doubt it but, then again, I haven’t ridden one yet…The proof of the pudding as they say, is in the eating!
As a big Ducati fan, I wish them all the success with the new store and that the Ducatista among us are happy to see the brand growing here in the UAE…Long may it continue
Ciao for now….
