Losail June 6th: The second round of the Endurance World Championship will take place this weekend at Losail International Circuit. A total of 23 teams will join the 8 Hours of Doha in the two different categories, Formula EWC and Superstock. In EWC, the team leading the standings after the first round in Bol d’Or, Team SRC Kawasaki, will not take part in this round, so Suzuki Endurance Racing Team (SERT) who is in second position of the standings, are in a position to lead the championship should they get a good result in Doha.
In Superstock category, the leading team of this category, 3D Endurance Moto Centre will not race in Losail , so the second classified in the standings, Team Penz 13 also are hoping for a good result here.
The two teams from QMMF, Qatar Endurance Racing Team I (95) and Qatar Endurance Racing Team II (96), have great expectations to get good results here as they did previous years.
QERT 95 with a Suzuki GSXR 1000 with riders Anthony West, Nasser Al Malki and Nina Prinz will try to be in the podium in its category. West and al Naimi just came back from Spain where they took part last week in Moto2 World Championship and Spanish Championship respectively. The third rider of the team, the German rider Nina Prinz is in excellent fitness after finishing fourth in the Qatar International Road Racing Championship held last weekend at Losail and being Rookie of the year.
The other QERT team #96 also will use a Suzuki GSXR 1000 the team is formed by Saeed Al Sulati, Elena Rosell and Sultan Al Kuwari. Also, two of the riders, Rosell and Al Sulaiti were last week in Spain taking part in the Moto2 World Championship and Spanish Championship respectively.
Free practices will be on Thursday 7th June from 19:00 to 23:00 and Qualifying practices will be on Friday 8th June from 18:20 to midnight.
The start of the 8 Hours of Doha will be on Saturday 9th June at 17:00 and the checkered flag of the race will be Sunday 10th June at 01:00.
The main grandstand is open for all the public and the entrance is free. VIP and Paddock passes are available at QMMF offices in Salwa Road and at the Welcome Centre of the Losail International Circuit during the event. The prices are 100 QR for Paddock Pass and 250 QR for VIP Pass.
