UAE National Haytham Sultan is proud to fly the flag for his country
Abu Dhabi, UAE-April 14th: Filling an important gap in driver development, GulfSport Racing have launched the UAEs very own dedicated race series aimed at nurturing driver talent in the Emirates, the new single-seater series aims to bridge the gap between karting and larger more powerful open wheel racing series.
The first Emirati to sign up for the new Formula style of racing was Haytham Sultan a young 20 year old kart racer who has his sights set firmly on representing his country in the highly competitive Formula style racing series.
Haytham has been putting the car through its paces with hours of open practice at Abu Dhabi’s prestigious Formula One circuit in Yas Marina in preparation for the 8 event, 16 race Championship commencing October 2011.

“Im really very excited that this series has been launched because up till now we had no other option to race in this category, I want to move quickly to International racing and Im excited about starting here first to get my experience with the top coaches”, commented Haytham.
Students at the Formula Gulf test sessions received a first class on-track race sessions with International driver coach Andy Pardoe, extreme fitness and stamina training from Phil Robson at Caveman Fitness followed by media skills and a sponsorship lecture delivered by Lex Akehurst at XSPORT.
Formula Gulf 1000 is open to national and International drivers holding a valid FIA race license with no restrictions on age.
The Formula Gulf cars and drivers can be seen testing again at this coming weekends racing at Dubai Autodrome as part of the Speed Weekend on Apr 15th and 16th.
