Dubai 24hr: Khaled Al Qubaisi debuts in his first 24hrs endurance at Dubai Autodrome 24 Hours

Dubai, Jan 11th 2011: Abu Dhabi driver Khaled Al Qubaisi will be heading for a new challenge with the start in the Dubai 24 hour race with his team ‘tolimit arabia’ on January 14th and 15th 2011.

The 35 year-old athlete will be the first driver with Abu Dhabi origins that is competing in this race. He will be joined by former Porsche works-driver Sascha Maassen, the British Porsche expert Sean Edwards and Dutch former Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup champion Jeroen Bleekemolen.

“Our driver team consists of experienced endurance experts such as Sascha and Jeroen, with Sascha having a full record of wins in the famous 24 hour races in Le Mans and Spa, the Sebring 12 Hours and the Atlanta 10 Hours and Jeroen having won the LMP2 class in Le Mans in 2008. Also Sean has already had some success in endurance racing, as he achieved a 3rd place in the 24 hour race in Spa. Furthermore we have made our first joint endurance experience in the 6 hour race in Vallelunga, where we achieved the class win straightaway. Together with our technical crew, I am pretty confident to achieve a good result. We are heading for the podium.”

The Porsche 911 GT3 R of ‘tolimit arabia’ will start in the livery of the main partner SR Technics, a technical service provider for aircrafts from Switzerland: “We look forward to welcoming SR Technics and their guests at the race. They will not only receive an intense look behind the scenes, but will also be able to establish new business contacts. Motor sports are a great platform for marketing and event purposes.” The car will furthermore display the logo of the new ‘tolimit arabia’ media partner ‘Cable Tech’, the first ever mobile virtual TV network operator, who will use the ‘tolimit arabia’ motor sports platforms for content creation and communications. “The target is to once have an own motor sports channel through ‘Cable Tech’ and even get more coverage for our passion and our partners.”

The Dubai 24 Hours will start on Friday, January 14th, 2011 at 2 p. m. and finish the next day. A 52 min highlight program will be aired all around the globe in more than 150 countries on channels such as Motors TV, ESPN Asia, ESPN Latin America, Fox Sports America, Fox Sports Latin America, Fox Sports Australia, Fox Sports Middle East, SuperSport Africa, Sky Sports (GER/AUT), Motorvision TV (GER), Sky Sports (GBR), Channel 5 (GBR), Teleclub (SUI), Ma Chaine Sport (FRA), TVE Teledeporte (SPA), Sport TV (POR), Novasports (GRE), Sport TV (SLO), Nova Sport (CZE), Sport 5 (CZE), Mix TV (BRA) and Abu Dhabi Sports Channel (Middle East).
