JDM Allstars Professional drifting are coming to Dubai, and they mean business. They will form the opening round of the first professional drift event in the Middle East running for three days from December 9-11th.
Sixteen of JDM Allstars top pro drivers from Europe have been handpicked and selected for this ‘end of season burnout’. With drivers frustrated at the weather conditions in Europe, Dubai has been chosen as the country of choice for the start of their Middle East Tour.
Dubai Festival City are the official venue partners hosting this very special exhibition match to be run on the afternoons and evenings under floodlights. The custom made Drift track will follow the traditional JDM Allstars urban design, being the biggest staging of this kind to be built in the Middle East. We are even informed they are building a Helipad to accommodate some of the A-listers, arriving for the show.
Visitors will get the opportunity to witness the shootout tournament with some of the top-ranked professional drift drivers from around the world. Drift Australia Champion 2010 and JDM Allstars Champion Luke Fink, will be launching his new team in Dubai while 2009 JDM Allstars Champion and Dutch Champion, Remo Niezen will amaze the crowds in his impressive 500hp Falken Tyres BMW also gunning for a top result. To mix things up there are strong contingents from Ireland with 2008 European Champion and 2010 Irish Champion James Deane in his Nexen Tyres Nissan PS13 joined by team mate Christy Carpenter in his 600hp Nexen Tyres Nissan S15.
During the Drift tournament, visitors will be entertained by the professional Rage Extreme Zone with the official Nike Skateboard Team, Lewis Marnell, Stefan Janoski, Chris Hassler, Shane O’Neil and Youness Amrani. The Rage zone will be the epicenter of action sports activity during UAE Drift, with the skate park just finalizing its massive revamp, this will be one of the biggest skate shows to hit the region this year.
Live Music will fill in the night with the main stage providing entertainment for the whole weekend. The acts kick off with MTV Europe Music Awards nominee Hamdan from ABRI, on Thursday night, with support from ‘The Recipe’ and headlining are UK award winning Hip-Hop band ‘Foreign Beggars’. Friday night headline act are the popular Egyptian group ‘Arabian Knightz’ supported by ‘Jibberish’, and Half Gully from ‘Diligent Thought’ in support. Last but not least, Saturday will feature performances on the turntables from DJ Flash B with beatboxers, Hirabeat and Ray.
Dubai Modified Car & Bike Show will combine all this action with car clubs attending from all over the UAE. Supercars, Dream cars and Custom cars as well as the best tuner shops, trading areas and event partners will be displaying their products in the vendor area.
