Dubai, 5th Nov 2010: After finishing the race in 7th place, losing a hard earned 5th place position at the last lap of the race due to a brake failure induced spin out, the team at Sayel Racing are determined to redeem themselves throughout the remainder of the UAE GT Championship season.
“Our race weekend was unfortunately riddled with unexpected issues that prevented us from achieving our set goals” said Saad Salman, the teams race driver. “Also, with our X-Bow race car designed to perform better in the corners than the straights, the International circuit layout we raced on this weekend was not to our advantage”
The organizers of the local championships have skillfully designed each race of the season to purposely take place on either a different circuit or a different layout of the same circuit in order to keep the races challenging for the drivers and exciting for the viewers. As such, Sayel Racing had come into the race weekend knowing that they were at a disadvantage and needing all the luck they can get. Unfortunately, lady luck was not on their side with electrical problems causing power hesitation that couldn’t be solved in time and a prevailing brake overheating issue during the race.
However the fans and viewers were still treated to an exciting race that had Sayel Racings X-Bow fighting off the Seat Supercopa from behind and overtaking the Maserati GranTurismo ahead.
The team plan on focusing their efforts on better preparing the car for the next race which takes place on the 26th of November. “Not only do we want to do better for the sake of Sayel Racing, but also for our ever-growing fan base, which is reflected by our 2000 strong member fan site on Facebook” said team coordinator Sima Farouki ” We believe we have so much potential so we won’t let this result discourage us. We’re definitely looking forward to the next race”
