BAHRAIN, 15 APRIL 2015: Sheikh Hasher Al Maktoum and Saeed Al Mehairi of the Skydive Dubai Falcons will be in action during this weekend’s Bahrain Grand Prix in the curtain raiser to Formula 1 when they do battle for top honours in the final round of the 2014-2015 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East.

The pair head to Bahrain International Circuit lying first and second in the Silver drivers’ standings, with Al Mehairi on 177 points and Al Maktoum 11 points adrift, but their combined focus is to capture the prestigious Team Championship trophy.

But it will be a tough task as they trail fellow UAE based team Al Nabooda by eight points and have it all to do in the final two races in Bahrain.

Al Maktoum: “This is our second season in this series and therefore we are relative novices, but we have learnt a lot over this period and can be happy that we are challenging for the team title right at the end of the season. We represent SkyDive Dubai and TAG Heuer which are iconic brands, and therefore we are determined to bring home the big prize. We know it will be tough, but this is the nature of this series. Our goal has been to win the Team Championship and it will only be mission accomplished when we do this.”

Al Mehairi has been the revelation of the season, scoring his first win at his home track Dubai Autodrome in December, while constantly running among the pace setters and is keen to see out the season on a high.

Al Mehairi: “That win in Dubai was great but it feels a long time ago and I am keen to get back on to the top step of the podium in Bahrain. We are targeting the Team Championship which is a tough goal, but I am sure we can rise to the challenge.”

Team manager Hadi Al Bloushi: “Our goal remains the Team Championship for Skydive Dubai who we represent and have made this project possible along with TAG Heuer and Corthay. Although we arrive in Bahrain as outsiders, I am confident our drivers Sheikh Hasher and Saeed have the firepower to bring home the big prize. They are very motivated to achieve this objective.”
