Saudi MTeam driver Mohammed Jawa makes debut in Porsche GT3 Cup Middle East
Bahrain, March 6th 2014 – Following his successful class win in the 24hrs of Dubai only eight weeks ago, Mohammed Jawa is upbeat about his latest challenge in the highly contested Porsche GT3 Cup this weekend.
“This is my first time in a Porsche race car and first time racing from a standing start too, so I am really looking forward to the new challenges this will present, also competing in the regions toughest championship is going to be a fantastic opportunity. I hope to be able to measure my skills against the others, I don’t expect it to be easy. I go into the race hoping to deliver, but I will be facing lots of tough challenges with the new car, the only thing I know is the circuit,” commented Mohammed.
Following the completion of Formula One pre-season testing on Sunday , the double header weekend will be contested over two days as the feature race of the annual Speed Weekend festival with a record 21 Porsche 911 Cup cars on the grid in this exciting season-finale to the Championship.
“As I am also taking part in the Porsche Cup support race during the Bahrain Gulf Air Bahrain F1 Grand Prix at the beginning of April, this weekend is a perfect opportunity to get some experience aboard the all-new 991 GT3. I also really wish to thank my sponsors, First Jewerly, for their support in these two races.
“Being one of the original founders of the GR8 racing team and seeing Mohammed still flying the GR8 logo, it’s a proud moment that First Jewelry will be able to support him during these two upcoming events” said Mohammed Al Tayeb.
